The Certifications
The Manufacturers Representatives Educational Research Foundation (MRERF) is a nonprofit organization: As the rate of change accelerates, the representative must lead the way by providing both customers and principals with professional sales and marketing services. The best way to do so is through research and education. The Foundation is committed to providing the representative with professional education through certification and sales training, academic study for greater understanding of the function, and information to the business community on the value of the function in the marketplace. The MRERF Research Program initiates and funds a broad range of analytical and investigative activities. All research is directed toward the study of the representative function in the marketplace. This research may be carried out within the academic community or through firms dedicated to the study of business practice and the consequences of change in the marketplace. The MRERF Education Program provides educational opportunities for representatives, brokers and agents through certification, sales training, and continuing education programs. The Foundation also prepares educational materials, and publishes resource material and periodic reports concerning the representative function. All information generated by MRERF is available to both the academic and business communities. MRERF's subsidiary, the Institute for Professional Advancement (IPA), oversees a 3 year certification program for representatives and food brokers. Program graduates receive the Certified Professional Manufacturers Representative (CPMR) or Certified Professional Food Broker (CPFB) designation. IPA also offers a 2 1/2 day seminar for multiple-line sales people. Structure: MRERF is a not-for-profit organization sponsored by 30 manufacturers' representatives associations in a variety of industries. A board of trustees, appointed from our sponsoring associations, governs the Foundation. The Foundation is funded through donations from its sponsoring organizations, other associations, corporations, and individuals. Because the foundation is a 501(c)3 organization, contributions are tax deductible. Contact MRERF for more information at the following:
